Ye Xu (1962-), was born in Wuxi, Jiangsu province.
He received Ph.D. degree in Shanghai Astronomical Observatory in 2002. He engaged in postdoc research in Nanjing University from 2002 to 2004 and visited the Max Planck institute for radio astronomy as a senior visiting scholar from 2005 to 2008. Chief scientist of Qinghai station .Research Professor in PMO
International experts consider his research about the spiral structure of our Galaxy as a milestone in the field. He was invited to give special reports in the conference of the International Astronomical Union and served as chairman in the Scientific Committee.
